Overview
In some cases, the aftereffects of fractures or bruises caused by traffic accidents or falls may not improve easily because the body remains stiff.
In the event of a large impact, bodily tissues stiffen to prevent destruction, and the resulting tension continues to constrict the body itself.
It pulls on the surrounding membranes, distorting the body, restricting blood flow and lymph, trapping waste products, and releasing pain.
Osteopathic techniques have the ability to loosen and release this stiffness.
The technique required is not only to release the membrane tissue and ligaments, but also to release the intraosseous lesions that loosen the stiffness of the bone itself.
This is especially true for the aftereffects of fractures, and some examples are presented below.

Back and neck pain caused by an accident while traveling

-From Google Review-
“In the USA, chiropractors are addressed as doctors. So 1 will address Yoshinori Tanigawa as Doctor. Dr. Tanigawa truly went out of his way to make sure we are ok following a car accident.
His treatment was gentle yet extremely effective. We only highly regret that we couldn't continue because we had to leave town. Very recommended.
Thank you”

Due to a fallSequelae of a toe fracture
The fall resulted in a fracture of the bone at the base of the little toe on his right foot (metatarsal).
Even after the bones had healed, the pain did not subside and it continued to hurt when I walked.
The doctor apparently told him to take a walk every day to build up his muscle strength and get better.
A few months later, the pain started to worsen after walking about 100 meters.
He also had difficulty lifting his right knee.

When I look at the body,
The tension in my right foot was stronger on the big toe side than on the little toe side, which seemed to increase tension in the entire right foot and hinder healing.
In the first treatment,
- Inner right knee
- The big toe side of the tarsal bones of the right foot (navicular bone - medial cuneiform bone)
- Right first and second metatarsals
Right sacroiliac joint
was adjusted.
On the day of the procedure, the pain when walking disappeared and the right knee was able to be lifted.
However, the patient experienced a sudden sharp pain when climbing stairs, so the treatment intervals were adjusted as the patient underwent treatment.
Eventually, the pain in his right leg completely disappeared, and he felt like he could walk with his back "off."
Sequelae of intracerebral hemorrhage and right rib fracture
A man in his 70s.
After suffering a cerebral hemorrhage that left him with paralysis on the right side of his body, five years later he fell and broke his right ribs, after which he began to feel dull pain in his right hand and right leg.
A year later, the pain in his right hand in particular became more severe, and this condition continued for about a year.
This means that it hurts a lot when I try to pick up something with my right hand.

When I look at the body,
Tension was concentrated in the right side of my body, from my face to my toes.
In particular, there was a lot of tension in the rib cage, which seemed to have been the result of the fall.
During the first treatment, the following tensions were released:
・Upper right femur
Right patellar ligament
・Right 7th to 9th ribs
・Left 2nd-3rd sternocostal joint
Right trapezius
・Right second metacarpal
Part of the right brachial plexus
With this treatment, the pain in the fingers of the right hand improved to about 3-4/10, and the pain in the right foot also improved to about 3-4/10.
Working backwards from the effectiveness of the treatment, it is thought that the impact of the rib fracture was strong, and the resulting tension continued to constrict the right side of the body, worsening the symptoms.
Aftereffects of a femur fracture from a traffic accident (body twists to the left, abdominal breathing is not possible)
A man in his 30s.
A young Colombian man who visited the hospital while traveling.
He broke his right femur in a traffic accident five years ago.
In addition, the accident caused his right heel to be torn apart, so he had to have skin grafted from another part of his body.
After the accident, his body began to lean to the left, and now his body is severely twisted to the left.
Whether I'm standing or sitting, there's a strong tension on the left side that pulls me, causing my body to lean.
I can't stand up straight or sit up straight.
And I can't breathe abdominally.
I can't take a breath and expand my stomach at all.
The tension in the rib cage is too great and the diaphragm cannot be lowered.
I think he must have had a severe bruise in the accident, as his ribs are extremely stiff.
"I couldn't breathe properly, it was painful, and I felt like I was drowning," he said.
It turned out that his mental health was also quite affected.

Because I was traveling, the treatment was only 50 minutes twice on two consecutive days.
The body was stiffened by the accident and then twisted in complex ways, and he had to make fine adjustments.
-Release the pericardium and right lower ribs to relieve tension in the rib cage.
・Releasing the right temporomandibular joint, occipitosphenoid joint, and nasal bone to adjust the face and skull and activate CSF
- Release of the left hip joint. The overwhelming tension here is thought to be due to the weight being placed on the right leg to protect it.
- Release of the right femur and calcaneus, which were the fractured areas. I have seen many hard heels, but I don't think I have ever seen a calcaneus that was as hard as rock.
Release the diaphragm, sternum, and mediastinum. This will relieve any tension in the rib cage area.
-Other necessary adjustments will be made to the left and right knees, and from the pubic bone to the right ilium.
After the treatment, the young man was able to breathe abdominally.
And my body, which had been twisted and tilted to the left, is now standing straight up.
"While you were touching me, I felt something moving inside my body. And when you let go, that feeling disappeared," the young man said with a smile. "And when the treatment was over, I found my body relaxed and loose, my breathing became easier, and I could hold my body upright. It's amazing."
They were very happy and asked me to take a commemorative photo.
Thank you very much, and they said they would write a comment to Google, but it seems they haven't written it yet.
It's been a tough five years.
I really wanted to continue to check on him to keep him in the best condition, but unfortunately I live on the other side of the world.
Let's hope that I can find a good teacher there who can maintain it well, and that I can keep it in at least some good condition.
